Mari Keski-Korsu will be a Guest Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UmArts affiliated with the Arctic Centre 2026-2028, funded by the Nessling Foundation, Finland.
Mari Keski-Korsu is an artist and researcher who completed her doctorate in Artistic Research at Aalto University, Finland. Her postdoctoral research in partnership with UmArts (2026-2028) will address the Rights of Nature, and art’s role in more-than-human decision making and heritage. Her expertise in post-disciplinary artistic research includes participatory methodologies such as walk-with and sensory ethnography. Her work evolves in collaborative research and eco-socially engaged art projects focusing on more-than-human values related to Arctic environment in Changing Perspectives (2020–2024, Access Abisko), contemporary more-than-human heritage in Coal Forest Ambassador (2024) and multispecies empathy in Interfaces for Empathy (2016–2018). In 2025, she initiated More than Person River as a part of European Union Horizon project VOICE which is using an artist-driven approach and Art-Technology-Society Interactions to bring people together to solve environmental problems.
