Welcome Ana Zdravkovic UmArts new Artist Researcher in Residence from Belgrade. During her residency she will explore forests through their biodiversity and intricate web of connections, where every organism plays a role in maintaining a cohesive whole. With a special focus on the micro-world of mosses, lichens, fungi, and other small-scale organisms.

Join Julio Diarte, Elena Vazquez, and Mikael Parkman for their outdoor presentation of ‘Tooling with Ice and Sawdust’ Small Visionary Project. The project uses ice and sawdust to experiment with natural materials and hybrid digital / low tech methods to build temporary pykrete structures.

Carla Collevecchio Lecturer in Architecture presents her Performative Bodies SVP research project at this Um…Crits session. Her work investigates the role of the moving body as a critical mediator in the synthesis of the arts.

UmArts Director Ele Carpenter will give the keynote lecture on Nuclear Culture across the hemispheres at the Barents Spektakel Fesitival in Kirkenes, Norway. In this context, Nuclear Culture is a way to deal with deep time pasts and futures, Intergenerational knowledge, bodily witnessing and sensing.

Through a series of slow textile art and clothing projects, Lotta Lundstedt explores the aesthetics of aversion. The process has employed repetition and return as methods, using textiles and garments as materials; drawing on emotions, memories, and habits as driving forces.

Annika Bünz, Associate Professor and Docent in Museology, Department of Culture and Media Studies, will present her project Ecologizing the Museum with Carola Nordbäck.
